Once upon a time, in a land named Whaddyaknow, lived three young whatchamacalits. These three whatchamacalits loved living in the land of Whaddyaknow, for they never had to go to school. You see, in the land of Whaddyaknow, everyone knew everything (or at least they thought they did). And since everyone knew everything, no one ever needed to learn anything. Thus, if anyone ever asked anyone else a question, they'd always respond, "Don'tchaknow?"
Every day, the three young whatchamacalits would do whatever they wanted to do, whenever they wanted to do it, for they didn't have to go to school. After doing this for quite some time, however, they began to get bored and decided that they'd like to do something new. After thinking about it, they decided to build a model spacecraft. There was just one problem. None of them knew how to build a model spacecraft, even though, of course, they were supposed to know everything already.
So, they decided to ask their parents. When they asked Mom, she shrugged and said, "Well, don'tchaknow?" When they asked Dad, he folded his arms and growled, "Well, don'tchaknow that?" None of them were quite ready to admit that they didn't know how to build a spacecraft, so they decided to ask the clerk at the hobby store where they hoped to buy all the parts needed for their spacecraft. He, unfortunately, responded the same way, with a casual "Don'tchaknow?"
Now they were perplexed. They really wanted to build a spacecraft, but couldn't find anyone to tell them how. Finally, they decided to ask the chief engineer of Whaddyaknow's space program. After receiving permission to step into his office, they asked the same question, "Would you teach us how to build a model spacecraft?"
Surprised, the engineer looked up from his work. "I'm glad you asked," he said. "I've noticed that around here, everybody seems to know (or at least pretends to know) everything. I'm delighted to find three young whatchamacalits who are willing to learn." He continued, "You know, I don't know everything myself, but I do know how to build spacecraft. I'll be happy to teach you!"
And so, the three young whatchamacalits learned something new: they realized that they had a lot to learn--from someone who'd learned a lot, especially about spacecraft.
